Why can't I
Remember to
Forget all these
Memories, please
Why can't I
Shed the thought
Of wanting to
Fall apart
Once there was this boy
He was 12 years old
He played basketball in school
Even when he caught a cold
He also played guitar
Could just play for hours
It was just way too fun, sometimes he forgot to shower
He had this teacher
This kid didnt care about science or this preacher
But this dude was amazing
He spoke about biology so passionately making it the kids ideology
"Time for some test results!"
"Amazing kid, hell, you're doing so well!"
"Well thank you mister, this is just swell!"
Why can't I
Remember to
Forget all these
Memories, please
Why can't I
Shed the thought
Of wanting to
Fall apart
Oh I have
Come this far
I will keep on
Playing my part
In february '07
A 13 year old boy wanted to make a good impression
He bought a present for his mom
Spent so much time looking for it, he thought it was "the bomb"
You see he and his mom had been arguing a lot
And this present he bought was to make up for it, he thought
"Happy birthday mother" he said
"What is this?" She said as she rose from her bed
"It's my present for you"
"Don't want anything from you, now get out of my room!"
Not knowing what to do he went to his room, started crying like a baby coming out of a womb
Cause of all the thought that he put on this present
He went back to the store with so much resentment
All he wanted to do was to make her smile
Saying "I forgive you with this present, let's not be hostile?"
And from this day on
Shit escalated til' the family bond was gone
Why can't I
Remember to
Forget all these
Memories, please
Why can't I
Shed the thought
Of wanting to
Fall apart
Oh I have
Come this far
I will keep on
Playing my part
Seven years later he left the haters
He works at a store, lives in an apartment on the ground floor
Things are looking up for him, he even goes to the f*cking gym
But on the 24th of december, he can't do nothing but remember
See this grown boy can't shed his thoughts
He just sits there, thinking of how much they fought
He cannot forget
Things seem even worse than before he left
'Cause in retrospect
He can finally see how f*cked up his home had been
So he sits there alone
Doing nothing but remember
On the 24th of December
