I see clear I just don't see straight
I see more ghosts than people in this place
I see where you used to sit
Speaking old words, making old faces
I see the friends that sang in church
Their earthly living counterparts still on this earth
Scared a step into that house would send them up in smoke
Time isn't gonna be waiting up for us
We're graying just keeping up
I'm pulling teeth from a bleached white skeleton
Looking like an apparition to everyone else
I realize I've said it myself
I wouldn't want to be remembered as I was
Most of high school really should never be seen again
Still I find myself at that shelf
Dusting off, nursing old wrongs back to health
Hurts better off left lying dead in the dirt
Time isn't gonna be waiting up for us
We're graying just keeping up
I'm pulling teeth from a bleached white skeleton
Looking like an apparition to everyone else
