Why do you think I bring a singer in?
Because the muse is still too timid to sing!
But then I think with just a little time
She will tell me soon "This role is now mine!"
And then she will sing with the voice of an angel
Master every cadence, closed, open or plagal
While blinking at me with her smiling eyes
I can never know angel or devil in disguise
But wait, don't push her, she's as shy as a bird
Just give her some time, until she wants to be heard
Feels surer of herself and her golden voice
And we all know from then on there will be no choice:
Why do you think I bring a singer in?
Because the muse is still too timid to sing!
But then I think with just a little time
She will tell me soon "This role is now mine!"
The muse will then be the star of the show
The artist, the singer, the person to know
The only one woman left on the earth
Like in that poem called "Muse" that we heard
I need to be patient, give her the time she needs
Carefully tease her, plant inspirational seeds
Let her practice the piano with every finger
Give her space and time to be also the singer
