Slow Down is a song taken from Selena Gomez' debut studio album, Stars Dance (2013). It was released on
June 3, 2013, when it was made available for instant digital download along with the pre-order of the album.
Hollywood Records later sent the song to mainstream radio as the second single from the album on August 13.
The dance-pop song was produced by The Cataracs and David Kuncio, and infuses EDM elements in its instrumentation.
Selena recorded this Dubstep-influenced track to remind herself how important it is to live in the moment. "It's basically just about having this moment and not having to rush it, because I don't know how many times I've been like, 'I just want to be married and over this,' but this is what we're supposed to be enjoying," she revealed to MTV News.
Selena was inspired by EDM artist Skrillex to record "baby dubstep" for her Stars Dance album. She told MTV News: "I love to dance and I love to make people dance. It's the best feeling."

The accompanying music video for "Slow Down" was directed by Philip Andelman, and filmed in Paris, France.
Selena told MTV News:
"Well I wanted it to be different than 'Come and Get It' in the slightest way. I think 'Come & Get It' was more
of that sensual vibe and is very beautiful and 'Slow Down's a little bit harder, so we kind of went for more
darker themes. And it was fun. The dancing was great and we got to shoot it in Paris, so that was amazing and
unbelievable, It was a good experience."
