Stereophonic Musical Lyrics

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Seven Roads

Seven roads
I walked alone
Seven skies
To guide me home
Seven tears I counted in your eyes
When I told you all my seven lies

When you're near
I can't breathe
When you're far
I don't believe

Seven roads I had to journey through
And they always led me back to you
My love, oh, my love

Seven prayers
I never said
Seven stitches
We're the thread
Seven roads I had to journey through
And they always led me back to you
My love, oh, my love

I'm standing here before you
And I'm holding out my hand
Oh, you don't have to take it
It's been so long, either way I understand

Seven prayers
I never said
Seven stitches
We're the thread
Seven roads I had to journey through
And they always led me back to you
My love, oh, my love

Oh, my love
(My love)
Oh, my love
Oh, my love

Great, that's great, let's just do it two more times
That's great

I love singing to you, Tom

Same

Are you lying?

No, I'm not lying
I have a na- I just have a natural ironic cadence

Same

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Bright v1

Sunday morning and the light is fine
In the beating of a bird's wing, I come alive

I was dreaming of a love song, but what good is love when the wind starts blowing?
Nothing forgotten, nothing forgiven when the night comes to an end

Like the bird on the windowsill, I tremble through the passing shadow
Close my eyes and count to ten until

I'm in the bright light, forgetting my name
The shadow of our lives, familiar but strange
Without enough darkness left to hide all the pain
I'm in the bright light again

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Masquerade

Got my ticket to the masquerade
Sold this soul, and the money paid
I've been here so long, and
That's where you have gone, so I
Grab my bag and I'm on my way

The old man told me that I shouldn't go
There are things I couldn't know
I said you may be wise, but you
Haven't seen her eyes so
Shook his hand and I hit the road

Why, why, why, why, why
Why won't the sun rise?
Why, why, why, why, why
Can't I forget your eyes?

Shadows reachin' out for my heart
And I keep moving on through the dark
Travelled many miles, and I'd
Love to stop a while, but
Nothing, child, is gonna keep us apart

Why, why, why, why, why
Why won't the sun rise?
Why, why, why, why, why
Can't I forget your eyes?

Promises I made were made of glass
I gathered all the shards to bring to you
I lit a candle and I prayed for forty nights
Haven't heard an answer yet
I like the silence anyway

Got my ticket to the masquerade
Sold this soul, and the money paid
The road is long again, and the
World is full of sin, so I
Grab my gun and I'm on my way

I'll see you when I get there
I'm going to see you when I get there
I'll see you when I get there
I'm going to see you when I get there
I'll see you when I get there
I'm going to see you when I get there
I'll see you when I get there
I'm going to see you when I get there

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Bright (Fast)

What are you exploring?
Um, mu— the music

Sunday morning and the light is fine
In the beating of a bird's wing, I come alive
I was dreaming of a love song, but what good are dreams when the wind starts blowing?
Nothing forgotten, nothing forgiven when the night comes to an end

Like the bird on the windowsill, I tremble through the passing shadow
Close my eyes and count to ten until

I'm in the bright light, forgetting my name
The shadow of our lives, familiar but strange
Without enough darkness left to hide all the pain
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)

Have you see it when they start taking flight?
How they spread out in silence and own the sky
I was dreaming we could be there, the wind in your arms and the earth dissolving
Something forgotten, something forgiven, what it was, I couldn't say

I'm afraid I could live this way forever as I glance beside me and the shadow burns away

I'm in the bright light, forgetting my name
The shadow of our lives, familiar, but strange
Without enough darkness left to hide all the pain
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)

The nighttime loves you, but it is not your friend
The lights will flicker and we're lost again
The crowd is laughin', but the joke, it isn't clear
I long to click my heels and disappear, oh, babe

I'm in the bright light, forgetting my name
The shadow of our lives, familiar but strange
Without enough darkness left to hide all the pain
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again

Tom, this on?
Yeah
Oh, yeah, I thought we were doing just the outro part
No, let's play the song again
Alright

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Drive

Whatever wakes you in the morning, whatever keeps you up at night
Whatever diamonds you've been hiding, afraid they'll cheapen in the light

Outside, when winds are blowing (Ooh) and the stars are trying to shine (Ooh)
In a car you can't afford (Ooh), you just drive and drive and drive

I feel it once again (I feel it once again)
Love waiting in the wind (Love waiting in the wind)
Beyond the next horizon
The sun is almost rising

I can't tell you I am sorry for saying things I never said (Ooh)
All this world is made for sorrow (Ooh), or is it only in my head?

I feel it once again (I feel it once again)
Love waiting in the wind (Love waiting in thе wind)
Beyond the next horizon
Thе sun is almost rising

We move through moonlight
People are saying
You'll only break my heart (And it breaks)
They're not mistaken
What if it's already broken?

I feel it once again (I feel it once again)
Love waiting in the wind (Love waiting in the wind)
Beyond the next horizon
The sun is almost rising
The sun is almost rising

(Ooh)
You gotta keep on rising
(Ooh)
You gotta keep on rising
You gotta keep on rising (Ooh)
You gotta keep on rising
You gotta keep on rising (Ooh)
You gotta keep on rising
You gotta keep on rising (Ooh)

Original Cast of Stereophonic - East of Eden

To the east of Eden, flowers in my hair
Stumble from the garden, I didn't even care

Why are you still confused when kindness is calling after you?
Why do we have to choose when everything you got is right in front of you?

Mountains in the distance, pebbles in your hand
Standin' in the open, I didn't understand

Oh, why are you still confused when kindness is calling after you?
Why do we have to choose when everything you got is right in front of you?

Animal illusions, call it what you will
Can you feel the earth turn? 'Cause I feel
I feel it
Oh, I feel it now

Why do you still refuse me? Kindness is calling out to you
Why do we have to choose when everything you got is right in front of you?

(Ooh)
Long past midnight, at the drunken water's edge
I was trying to show you something out in the stillness, in the darkness there

Oh, to the east of Eden, flowers in my hair
Stumble from the garden, I didn't even care

Oh, why do you still refuse me? Kindness is crawling after you
Why do we have to choose when everything you got is right in front of you?

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Domino

When the dominoes fall, gonna lay me down
There ain't nothing at all that can bare the sound

I've been waiting on just one touch
Just a little breath, baby, that's enough
Somebody told me I feel too much
But it feels alright to me

Oh, when the dominoes fall, when they hit the ground
There ain't nothing at all that can bear the sound

I'm just watching the bottles spin
Wondering when you're back again
Wondering when that wildest dream
Is gonna wind on back to me

When the dominoes fall, when they hit the ground
There ain't nothing at all that can bear the sound

Midnights
No time
Your heart beside mine
Midnight
No time
Your heart beside mine

I've been waiting on just one touch
Just a little breath, baby, that's enough
Somebody told me I feel too much
But it feels alright to me

When the dominoes fall, gonna lay me down
There ain't nothing at all~

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Its made of teak

Did you get these for Christmas?

My brother got it for me

For Christmas? Lovely

It's made of teak
It's made of teak?

That sounds

That sounds like shit
That sounds like shit

Well, that sounds like shit
Well, failed experiment

Why isn't Domino on the album?
We tried so many times with that song

Didn't we cut it?
Don't we cut it by the end?

None of the songs make it

There's no songs on the album, it's very experimental

Original Cast of Stereophonic - In Your Arms

One, two, three, four

I was a girl with a
Braid in her hair
You were the one we took
Down to despair

You said
"Come here
You got nothing to fear"
So I laid in your arms

It was midnight with the wind from the west
You counted all the flowers on my dress
You were laughing at the stars in the sky
And I asked you why
As I laid in your arms

In your arms
I feel alright
In your arms
Against the cold of the night
There's no hope
In letting my mind
Drift back to the time
When I laid in your arms

You can tell me that you love someone else
You can tell me I'm not kiddin' mysеlf
But we were laughing, you and I
As wе stared up at the sky
And I lay in your arms

In your arms
I feel alright
In your arms
Against the cold of the night
There's no hope
In letting my mind
Drift back to the time
When I laid in your arms

Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah

In your arms
I feel alright
In your arms
Against the cold of the night
There's no hope
In letting my mind
Drift back to the time
When I lay in your arms

You can tell me that you love someone else
You can tell me I'm not kiddin' mysеlf
But we were laughing, you and I
As wе stared up at the sky
And I lay in your arms

In your arms
I feel alright
In your arms
Against the cold of the night
There's no hope
In letting my mind
Drift back to the time
When I laid in your arms

Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah

In your arms

Original Cast of Stereophonic - Bright (Take 22)

("Bright" take 22)

You've been singing in your sleep again
But the words come out all cluttered
I can't make sense
Like you're dreamin' of a love song
Oh, what good is love
When the wind starts blowin'?
Nothing forgotten, nothing forgiven

When the night comes to an end
Like a child, you hold out your hand
And tremble
Like I'm right beside you
And not a thousand miles away

I'm in the bright light
Forgettin' my name
The shadow of our lives
Familiar but strange
(Ooh) Without enough darkness left to
Hide all the pain

I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)

The nighttime loves you but it is
Not your friend
The lights will flicker and we're
Lost again

(Ooh) The crowd is laughin'
But the joke, it isn't clear
I long to click my heels and
Disappear, oh babe

I'm in the bright light
Forgettin' my name
The shadow of our lives
Familiar but strange
(Ooh) Without enough darkness left to
Hide all the pain

I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
I'm in the bright light again (I'm in the bright light)
