Miskatonic - Desperate Measures Lyrics
Official

K'naa was a sacred place
Since from its midst the bleak basalt cliffs of mount Yaddith-Gho
Soared starkly into the sky
Topped by a gigantic fortress of cyclopean stone
Infinitely older than mankind
And built by the alien spawn of the dark planet Yuggoth
Which had colonized the earth before the birth of terrestrial life
We did not sense his presence
Until it was too late
Hiding within human semblance
An architect of fate
Fed us lies
Consumed our souls
Drew us to our doom
Dragged into a gravitic pull
And an early tomb
The spawn of Yuggoth had perished eons before
But had left behind one monstrous and terrible thing which could never die
Their hellish god, or patron-demon, Ghatanathoa
Which glowered and brooded eternally, yet unseen
In the crypt beneath that fortress on Yaddith-Gho
None to blame for our demise
From the void they crawled
All resistance crushed like flies
Over cities, feelers sprawled
As the rubble comes to rest
I'll bring my terror to an end
Survival seems in cosmic jest
With each breath my mind he rends
There were always those who believed that sacrifices must be made to Ghatanathoa
Lest it crawl out of its hidden abysses
And waddle, horribly, through the world of men
As it had waddled through the primal world of the Yuggoth-spawn
